Chapter 10: Conflict Management, Dealing with Issues, Roles, and Crisis

Conflict takes many forms, from warfare between nations to spats between teenagers and their parents.

Conflict occurs when two groups direct their efforts against each other devising actions and communication that directly or verbally attack the other group.

Strategic Conflict Management…COMPONENTS

1. Strategic– for the purpose of achieving particular objectives

2. Management– planned, deliberate action

3. Competition– striving for the same object, position, prize, as others

4. Conflict- sharp disagreements or opposition resulting in a direct, overt threat of attack from another entity.

Three broad categories of strategic phase are:

Risk communication

-Conflict positioning

– Crisis management plan
