This chapter beings to talk about generation X, Y, Baby boomers, Seniors, Ethnic groups, Religious views, Gays/lesbians, and women/men.

Diversity is the most significant aspect of the mass audience in the United States.

-differences in geography, history, and economy among regions of sprawling country are striking.

Public relations professionals recognize the importance of the youth market because children and teenagers represent an important demographic to marketers because they influence their parents buying decisions.

Minority populations form many target audiences, not massive monolithic group whose members have identical interests, education, and income levels.

Television has the strongest emotional impact of all media.
